Tyler Rhorick wins regional POL competition 

Tyler Rhorick, a junior at the Scholars Academy, is one of three winners in the South Carolina Lowcountry Region's Poetry Out Loud competition, comprised of school-level winners from the coastal areas of the state. He now advances to the state competition on March 3. State winners will receive $200 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC to compete at the national finals. Read more.
 
Caroline Moore named a 2012 Presidential Scholars candidate 

Caroline Moore of the Scholars Academy and Socastee High School has been identified as a candidate for the 2012 United States Presidential Scholars program. She is one of 55 high school seniors in South Carolina being considered for this prestigious distinction of academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship and community service.

Discovery Education and Intel Corporation have named Diane Scher, a Technology Assistant at North Myrtle Beach Primary School, the winner of the Catch Me Being Curious national sweepstakes.
