Salenia Michelle Temoney of Green Sea Floyds High School will graduate later this week with the honor of being Horry County Schools’ only graduate to have 12 years of perfect attendance. Temoney is among 66 students throughout South Carolina to have gone to school through their entire academic careers without missing a single day. Twelve years amounts to 2,160 consecutive days of school.
Since 1979, seniors with 12 years of perfect school attendance have been recognized by the South Carolina Department of Education. They receive certificates and congratulatory letters from State Superintendent Jim Rex’s office.
