Horry
County Schools will hold kindergarten, first-grade, and child
development registration for Fall 2008 at all primary and elementary
schools beginning on Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 11.
Registration will be conducted during the school day.
Parents must bring a legal birth certificate, certificate of immunization, and proof of residency.
A Social Security number is requested. When registering, the student(s)
and parent(s) must provide documentation of a physical address.
Acceptable verifiable documentation includes a current
electric/water/sewer bill, current and signed rental agreement,
approved transfer form, proof of guardianship or a valid receipt and
letter on property letterhead indicating student is staying in hotel or
rental condo for a long term.
Under state law, children who will
be six years old on or before Sept. 1, 2008, must be enrolled in first
grade. Kindergarten students must be five years old on or before Sept.
1, 2008. Child development students must be four years old on or before
Sept. 1, 2008. Enrollment in child development classes is limited and
students must be tested before admission. Parents/guardians may
register for an appointment for an admissions screening for the child
development program at the time of registration.
